![]() During the course of the first generation Pokemon games you have to muddle your way through a series of increasingly labyrinthian caves. The first enemy on this list is something of an outlier, firstly because you can catch it and repurpose it to your own advantage, and partly because dispatching it is typically easy. Zubat – Pokemon Red & Blue This image is forever burned into my eyes. Whether it be from an imbalance of effective attacks, being disproportionately more powerful than the area they reside in, or simply because they somehow take advantage of a mechanic in the game that isn’t quite up to standard, these 8 motherfuckers are probably cumulatively responsible for the destruction of hundreds of controller pads, keyboards and things which happened to be within reach at the time.ġ. Some of them will be easy to kill, some of them will be thrilling to challenge and some of them will be utter bullshit. In any decent single player experience, you’re going to run into a wide variety of different foes. I had more fun on my last Oblivion play-through where I did almost nothing but third-party quest mods like The Ayleid Steps and The Lost Spires. There are countless lists of hard bosses and levels lurking around the internet, but in my experience, enemies are the thing that’s far more likely to drive you up the proverbial wall (or crashing through a real one). The near complete lack of magic items, shouts that disable opponents for less time than it takes me to re-equip my weapon, ridiculous AI behavior and random "you can't jump from here"/"oh look you fell through the floor" crap makes combat with major opponents frustrating at best.īut then I'm starting to think I should just uninstall this, between the continual frustration of leveled opponents and the idiotic quests I'm starting not to see the point of doing this any more. I can one-shot most bandits and whatnot, but then the boss-level ones typically kick my butt, bears are just a stupid shoot-and-run exercise, and blood dragons are insanely difficult to kill unless I have a lot of help. I'm playing a lvl 20 archer/sneak type, put my all perks into sneak and archery other than a couple in light armor, and playing on Adept is still a challenge. I really have a hard time believing all of these "What, I play on Master and run around naked killing dragons with my bare fists" people. And many of the Daedric quests have specific level requirements as well. There are certain dungeons (like Labyrinthian I believe) which has a specific level requirement. So if you find a fight too difficult you can leave and come back after you've levelled up several times. Obviously any overlords in there will be a level or two higher, while standard draugs will be a few levels lower. When you enter a dungeon for the first time (usually), everything in it levels to a specific range based on what your level is. All part of what makes this game so much fun. I am level 55 now and I still run away from fights because they are too difficult. I will fight a single Draug Overlord face on if need be, but I will never fight against two at the same time. ![]() ![]() The game was designed this way, you just need to adjust how you play for different encounters. This game is a lot harder than Oblivion, it provides a challenge no matter what level you are. I was dying a lot, and no one who has seen me play would say I was doing something wrong. ![]() Up until level 50 I was playing on Apprentice and found the game to be pretty challenging. You must be doing something seriously wrong. I don't know how novice is like but a friend of mine plays who plays on apprentice just 1 hits everything. I presume you are playing on novice right? If you find it hard it's the reasonable thing to do. Way too hard? I'm playing on master and i still find it fairly easy and have not broken the game in any way. ![]()
